Woman showing signs of intoxication swears at police officer after being stopped | Black Diamond Police Blotter

A vehicle was observed by an officer traveling at a speed higher then the posted speed limit in the 31100 block of 3rd Avenue. The officer turned on his emergency lights and the driver failed to stop for another mile. The vehicle then stopped in the middle of the roadway and the female driver jumped out and started to approach the officer yelling obscenities and threats. The officer eventually detained the woman and upon observing signs of intoxication a DUI investigation was initiated. The female driver agreed to perform field sobriety tests, which she failed. This case was forwarded to the King County Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges on felony harassment and numerous other misdemeanor charges.

March 12

  • DUI: 31100 block of 3rd Avenue. March 11

  • SUSPENDED LICENSE: 31600 block of 3rd Avenue. An officer observed a vehicle traveling in the 31600 block of 3rd Avenue with the registered owner having a suspended license.  Upon initiating a traffic stop and contacting the male driver it was determined he was the registered owner and his license was confirmed to be suspended.  The male driver was issued a criminal citation and released at the scene.

 

March 10

  • MAIL THEFT: 25200 block of Kanaskat Drive. Officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle that was occupied and it appeared the occupants were going through various mailboxes. The incident was occurring at about 3 a.m. in the 25200 block of Kanaskat Drive.  Upon arrival officers observed a vehicle matching that description exiting the area.  Officers stopped the vehicle and made contact with the two female occupants.  Both female subjects admitted to stealing mail from mailboxes throughout the neighborhood.  Numerous pieces of mail were recovered from inside the vehicle.  Victims of the mail theft were eventually contacted and both female subjects were booked into Buckley jail on theft charges.
