King County Council meeting highlights | Feb. 3-7

Metropolitan King County Council – 1:30 p.m.

 

–Councilmembers will recognize former Bellevue City Councilmember Don Davidson for his outstanding public service to Bellevue and the region

Councilmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

• An ordinance approving a development agreement between the County and BD Village Partners, LP, relating to a 77-lot subdivision adjacent to the city of Black Diamond, a regional stormwater facility and transfer to King County of open space lands (Ordinance 2013-0481).

 

Tuesday, February 4

 

Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee – 9:30 a.m.

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council:

 

• An ordinance creating a countywide transportation benefit district in King County, Washington, in order to finance the acquisition, construction, operation, maintenance and preservation of public transportation facilities, services and programs, roads and any other projects authorized by chapter 36.73 RCW (Ordinance 2013-0526).

• A motion expressing King County council’s support for a ballot measure for local transportation funding through the King County Transportation District (Motion

2014-0059).

 

 

Budget and Fiscal Management Committee – 1:30 p.m.

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council:

• An ordinance setting policies requiring socially responsible banking practices as a minimum requirement for financial institutions to be awarded and maintain banking contracts with King County (Ordinance 2014-0031).

• An ordinance relating to public transportation, revising rates of fare and instituting a program for low‑income transit fares (Ordinance 2014-0038).

 

Metropolitan King County Council – 6:00 p.m. ***SPECIAL MEETING*** The meeting will be held at Union Station, Ruth Fisher Board Room,  401 South Jackson Street, Seattle

 

Councilmembers will hear public testimony on two ordinances (2013-0526 and 2013-0527) that would create a Transportation Benefit District. Sign in for the public hearing will start at 5:30 p.m.
