Bear Run and Walk will raise money for Tahoma cross country team

The Bear Run and Walk event, part of Maple Valley Days, is scheduled to kick off Sunday, June 14. This four-mile course starts and ends at Lake Wilderness Park, winding its way around the lake on wooded trails and quiet back roads, with a couple of moderate hills thrown in to really get the legs moving.

This four-mile course starts and ends at Lake Wilderness Park, winding its way around the lake on wooded trails and quiet back roads, with a couple of moderate hills thrown in to really get the legs moving.

Early registration is by mail, but late registration will be accepted up to 30 minutes before the race. Packet pickup begins at 7:30 a.m. race day and the race begins at 9 a.m.

T-shirts are guaranteed to those who register by June 8, and will be available to all others while supplies last.

Proceeds generated from The Bear Run benefit the Tahoma High School cross country program, administered by the Tahoma Cross Country Running Club.

Prizes will be given away through a random drawing after the awards presentation. All finishers are eligible and must be present to win. Awards for both male and female runners are given.

The entry fee for adults is $20, and $10 for kids 12 and under, if postmarked by June 10. Subtract $5 if a T-shirt is not wanted. It will cost $5 for late registration.
