With the start of the new Rotary fiscal year July 1, it was time to welcome in a new Maple Valley Rotary president and board.
Fritz Gottfried, a well-known local massage therapist and Emu rancher, will take over the presidency from Sean Stewart the previous president. Gottfried, a 10-year rotarian has been active as president elect running the club’s auction and preparing for his year as president.
Along with a new president, a new board will also take over the reins of managing the local philanthropic organization. Among first time board members are Larry Armstrong, serving as sergeant at arms, and Cindy Holm, taking over the public relations chair.
“Fritz is ready. He’s well-positioned to make a great impact this coming year and he’s got a great board to support his vision,” Stewart said. “We’re looking forward to big things from them.”
The presidential terms in Maple Valley Rotary are for one year. Gottfried will serve as mentor to another first-time board member, Kirk Lantier of Key Bank, who will serve as president elect and will become Gottfried’s immediate successor next year.
