• The organizing committee for the Covington-Maple Valley-Black Diamond Relay for Life meets each month, with the next meeting coming in May. The schedule was reported incorrectly in the April 16 edition in the caption for a photo (“A life force”) about the fund-raising event for the American Cancer Society, which is scheduled for June 27-28. • Sande Boden is the teacher of a sixth-grade class at Cedar Valley Elementary School that, as part of its global warming and other environmental issues, recently received a letter from former vice president Al Gore in response to a letter written to him by one of the students. The teacher’s name was spelled incorrectly in a news article (“Dear Jordan: Thanks for caring”) in the April 16 edition.
