The city of Maple Valley Parks & Recreation is packing your summer full of festivals, concerts and more! Mark your calendars for fantastic summer entertainment at Lake Wilderness Park!
INDEPENDENCE DAY
Annual July 4th Family Picnic and Fireworks is a city of Maple Valley event presented by title sponsor Fred Meyer! The event starts at 4 p.m. and concludes with a brilliant firework show over Lake Wilderness at 10 p.m. Good Chevrolet co-sponsors this event that will have family friendly games and activities that will be a blast for the whole family. Republic Services is sponsoring a free kids Arts & Crafts booth.
BIKE CHALLENGE
The Bike Challenge presented by Good Chevrolet will be Saturday, July 19. Ages 11 and under can compete on their bikes to get the fastest time throughout designated routes in the park presented by MultiCare. Top prize receives a bicycle donated from Bikemasters.
KIDS FESTIVAL
On Saturday, July 19 the Kids Festival presented by Fred Meyer, co-sponsored by Good Chevrolet is a festival of free activities, games and entertainment that runs from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Maple Valley Firefighters Local #3092 generously presents the featured entertainer Greg Bennick, juggler and entertainer extraordinaire, who will be strolling entertainment as well as two shows at approximately 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Republic Services is sponsoring the Dunk Tank!

Thursday, July 31, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Hook Me Up Band: A quartet of musicians with a variety of jazzy vocal and instrumental musical entertainment.
Thursday, August 7, 6:30-8:30 p.m., The Spyrographs: A tight five piece band that plays the best Spy, Pop and Surf hits of the 1960s.
Sunday, August 10, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Night Train Blues Band: The Best Blues around!
Thursday, August 14, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Maple Valley Big Band: Local Big Band music at its Best!
Thursday August 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Pookela-Street-Band: Jamaican reggae and Hawaiian rhythms!
Thursday August 21, 8:30 p.m. Movie in the Park. Vote for the movie you want at www.maplevalleywa.gov. Voting ends soon choices are: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Despicable Me 2, Monsters University, The Lego Movie.
Come hungry, sizzling hot dogs and hamburgers will be grilled up! Concessions will be sold at all events this summer, come help support your local community groups who run the special event and concert concession stand!
