Metropolitan King County Council members want to know how Metro Transit and other transportation needs might work better in future snow storms.
In the wake of the recent heavy snowfall that disrupted Metro bus service and blocked many county roads, a council committee meeting Jan. 12 will be devoted to a review of the county’s snow response and procedures.
Despite “yeoman’s work under extremely difficult conditions” by county employees, “we were unable to deliver reliable service or clear information to Metro riders. That has to change,” said Councilman Dow Constantine.
Starting at 9:30 a.m. at the County Courthouse in Seattle, the council is scheduled to hear from Metro and road services officials about several issues, including what council members described as infrequent bus service and how the status of service was communicated to the public.
