Firefighters from three departments responded to a blaze at a home on Dorre Don Way Southeast on Monday afternoon, according to Maple Valley fire marshal Scott Webster.
Around 1 p.m., seven units from Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety, along with three units from Renton Fire Department and two from Mountain View Fire and Rescue, went to John Culhane’s home. The house is about five miles northeast of the Maple Valley city limits.
The structure suffered heavy damage, but no injuries were reported, officials said.
“Arriving units found the house 75 percent involved (in fire), and after determining that no one was inside, a defensive attack was ordered due to roof and floor collapse,” Webster said.
He said firefighters remained on the scene until 9 p.m. “extinguishing hot spots.”
As of Wednesday afternoon, the cause of the fire was still under investigation, fire officials said.
