Aspiring singers from ages 7-15 can participate in the 2012 Maple Valley Idol, Jr. Competition from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18.

The competition will be held at the Creative Arts Center, 23220 Maple Valley Hwy. SE, Suite 15, Maple Valley.

Only the first 30 singers to pre-register will be auditioned.

The winner will have the opportunity to perform in public during the year.

Singers will audition either acappella or with a soundtrack on a single track CD (Karaoke version). No iPods or MP3 players please.

Contestants will perform one song of their choice.

A panel of judges will choose the top 14 contestants to perform in the finals, which will take place at 7 p.m. March 23 at the Tahoma Middle School Theatre.

Judges will provide feedback immediately following each performance.

Finalists will show a natural ability, quality of performance, showmanship and audience appeal.
