Maple Valley Food Bank collecting back to school items

Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services is busily preparing for the back to school experience this fall. The food bank is committed to providing quality, filled backpacks to area children, K-12th grade, who may otherwise go without. These packs are stuffed with new school supplies, including all the essentials for a positive start to the school year.

Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services is busily preparing for the back to school experience this fall.

The food bank is committed to providing quality, filled backpacks to area children, K-12th grade, who may otherwise go without. These packs are stuffed with new school supplies, including all the essentials for a positive start to the school year. Approximately 700 backpack requests are expected from residents in Covington, Hobart, Maple Valley, Ravensdale and within the Tahoma School District boundaries. Collection barrels and a shopping list will be out

in the community. The food bank asks for those interested to take a flyer fill a bag with a donation and return it to a collection site.

Monetary donations are always welcome to help with the purchase of wholesale backpacks and supplies. To pick up a flyer in Maple Valley, visit the library, community center, City Perk, Village Coffee, Curves and the Four Corners and Wilderness Village Starbucks.

In Covington, drop by Surfrider Coffee Company, the library, Covington Place and the drive-through Starbucks and Multicare.
