The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews plan to close I-90 in both directions starting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, from Gold Creek (milepost 56) to Easton (milepost 70). A reopening time depends on the amount of time it takes to remove boulders and large pieces of debris. Crews will also evaluate and repair any damage to the highway. Drivers need to plan for two or more extra hours of travel time.
The rock blasting closures scheduled for Monday, June 3, Tuesday, June, 4 and Thursday, June 6, are scheduled for an hour from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. from Gold Creek (milepost 56) to the Price Creek Sno-Park (milepost 61).
Drivers will not only experience delays due to rock blasting closures next week, but construction-related activities from the top of Snoqualmie Summit to Ellensburg.
Starting Monday through Friday, drivers will experience delays associated with rolling slowdowns, daytime and nighttime single-lane closures and work on ramps near Cabin Creek Road and Tinkham Road.
It’s going to be a very busy construction season. Drivers need to plan their trips now in order to take the surprise out of running into delays or temporary closures.
