The city of Covington kicked off the Christmas season with a two-day Hollydaze celebration.
Friday evening was the community tree lighting near the Don Henning Roundabout and the Crestwood Elementary School choir sang carols for entertainment.
Saturday morning was the Santa breakfast and at noon the fruitcake hurl began.
Both kids and adults had fun using the slingshot to hurl special plastic enclosed fruitcake set up by Richard Nelson from Home Depot.
Chris Meyer from the Kiwanis Club was busy organizing the hurlers.
