Gordon wants to protect Black Diamond residents | Letter to the Editor

Dave Gordon earned our votes because he says what he means and he means what he says.

Recently Keith Watson, who lost in the primary election, lectured us about who to vote for in Black Diamond. Many of the 15 percent who voted for him now realize that his statements in the primary were false. He accused volunteers of lying when they pointed out that he was closely aligned with Olness on YarrowBay.

Watson also went so far as to use scare tactics about the risks of disagreeing with YarrowBay. However, now, he is campaigning with the incumbent he previously criticized. This calls his other statements into question.

Anyone can see what is going on — the same people who did not listen when residents told them YarrowBay was too big and a bad plan are still trying desperately to get their way.

Dave Gordon earned our votes because he says what he means and he means what he says.

It is unfortunate that Watson and Olness are resorting to rumors and wild accusations. The truth is Dave wants to protect us from the harm YarrowBay will bring.

Thanks to the steady efforts of citizens, the facts about YarrowBay are coming out. When you get past YarrowBay’s slick promotional materials, you see large clear cuts, traffic gridlock, crowded schools, higher taxes, and lower property values.

I’m going to vote for Dave Gordon again in the general election. I’m also ignoring Watson’s advice about the council races, so I’m voting for Erika Morgan, Carol Benson, and Janie Edelman.
