COVINGTON
- SERIAL SHOPLIFTER: 16900 block of Southeast 272nd Street. A shoplifter stole items from the Dollar Tree, Pier 1 Imports and Logic Hair Supply, which are all in the same commercial plaza. None of the businesses wanted to assist in prosecution, the police report said, but the suspect was trespassed from all of them.
- NO HEADLIGHTS: 15600 block of Southeast 256th Street. A motorist was driving without the car’s headlights on. The driver was pulled and cited for driving under the influence.
- CAR PROWL: 27200 block of 172nd Avenue Southeast. While his car was parked at LA Fitness during the day, someone stole a man’s wallet, tool belt, work keys and a flash light after smashing out the window of the car.
- BURGLARY: 17400 block of Southeast 272nd Street. After getting into the Spirit Halloween store, a burglar entered the unlocked office and stole money from a till that was left unsecured. It is not known how the burglar entered or exited the building as there was no evidence of forced entry.
- MAIL BOX BREAK IN: 17300 block of Southeast 270th Place. Someone pried open the door to the post office branch in Covington but the dead bolt was still in the locked position. The suspect then pried open a mail box near the east entrance of the building.
- DRUNK DRIVER: Southeast 232nd Street and state Route 169. After being stopped for blocking the intersection the driver was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol.
- THEFT: 24800 block of Witte Road Southeast. Someone stole a jackhammer from a construction site.
STOLEN DIRT BIKE: 22600 block of Southeast 270th Place. Someone stole a 50 cc (cubic centimeter) Honda dirt bike from the garage of a residence.
- TOOL TIME: 23900 block of Kent Kangley Road. A suspect who fled on foot after shoplifting power tools from Johnson’s Home and Garden was apprehended later.
