Friday, Feb. 28 is the last day to submit entries for the Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation Student Art Contest 2014.

All artwork entered in the contest must be accompanied by an entry form, available online at LakeWildernessArboretum.org, and must be received by the Arboretum by 4 p.m. A variety of delivery methods as well as the official rules, eligibility requirements, contest procedures and entry forms are explained on the online contest page, www.lakewildernessarboretum.org/activities/2014-student-art-contest/.

The Student Art Contest is an opportunity for local students to show their creative talents by creating original artwork expressing the theme, “Your favorite part of the Arboretum.”

Students ages three through 18 years, who are currently attending any grade from preschool through 12th grade within Maple Valley or bordering cities are eligible.

Winners are chosen by a judging panel selected by the Arboretum. Students who submit winning entries are recognized in local media and receive an online exhibition of their artwork on LakeWildernessArboretum.org. The artwork is also showcased in the 2014 Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation poster. Winners will also receive a monetary prize courtesy of local businesses, valued at $50.
