The Kentwood Conquerors shut out the Tahoma Bears during a league matchup Oct. 3 at Tahoma High School, 28-0.
The Conks scored two touchdowns in the first quarter on 50 and 24-yard runs by junior Isaiah Williams. The first score came on a third and seven during Kentwood’s opening drive. Williams’ second score came following a fumble recovery. The junior finished with 164 yards for the day.
The Conks added to their lead in the third quarter with a 25-yard touchdown run by sophomore Chaves Kalua-Fuimanono, who finished the game with 87 yards on 12 carries.
Derise Fugga ended the scoring, diving in for a one yard run in the fourth quarter.
Kentwood’s defense held Tahoma to 39 rushing yards and 110 passing yards. Bears’ quarterback Amandre Williams completed 15 of his 32 passes, along with one interception. The pick was Kentwood’s 13th of the season.
The Conks are ranked ninth in the state and improved to 2-0 in conference play, 5-0 overall.
With the loss, Tahoma fell to third place in the South Puget Sound League 4A Northeast division, with a 0-1 conference record, 3-2 overall.

The Bears play Kent-Meridian at 6:05 p.m. Saturday at French Field.
Kentlake
The Falcons fell to Todd Beamer Saturday, 42-7, their second loss in a row.
Kentlake scored less than three minutes into the first quarter with a two-yard quarterback keeper by junior Trey Helgeson.
Todd Beamer failed to score the first quarter but put two touchdowns on the board during each of the remaining quarters of the game.
With the loss, the Falcons fell to fourth place in the SPSL 4A Northeast with a 0-1 conference record, 2-3 overall.
Kentlake hosts the Kentridge Chargers at 7 p.m. Friday.
