The National Transportation Safety Board released an extended transcript of the cockpit voice recorder from Colgan Air Fight 3407 that crashed in Clarence City, N.Y. Feb. 12.

The copilot on the flight was Rebecca Shaw, a Maple Valley resident who graduated from Tahoma High.

The four crew members on the flight, 45 passengers and one person on the ground died. Shaw was 24 years old.

A press release from NTSB stated the investigation is continuing and information is being released as it becomes available.

Ice buildup on the flight surfaces is being looked at as part of the investigation.

The release pointed out the information released “does not provide analysis or the probable cause of the accident.”

In the extended transcript Shaw told the pilot Marvin Renslow she has not been feeling well, “…this is one of those times that if I felt like this when I was at home there’s no way I would have come all the way out here, but now that I’m out here.”

She went on to add, “I mean if I call in sick now I’ve got to put myself in a hotel until I feel better. You know we’ll see how it feels flying. If the pressure’s just too much I you know I could always call in tomorrow at least I’m in a hotel on the company’s buck but we’ll see. I’m pretty tough.”

Renslow said on the transcript the “Airborne may help out a little bit” and he suggested she try to “kill it” with orange juice.

Airborne is an over-the-counter dietary supplement that states on the packaging it will help support a person’s immune systems.
